Hey guys,

Where can I get a decent mouthguard, not the boil bite type. Do I just ask the local dentist? where did you guys get yours from and how are they?

Time for a visit to the dentist i think. Will be more $$$$$, but worth your while if you're into the combat sports.

I've been using a shockdoctor I bought for about 50 bucks, from memory, for close to a couple of years now. Its still a boil at home job, but covers both the upper and lower teeth and has these nifty little breathing holes. And it makes you look like a monkey when you wear it.

I've been punched in the face with it in a fair few times, including with crappy little mma gloves, and its come out with flying colours so far. It's not the most comfortable thing to wear, but covering both the upper and lower teeth makes a real difference, particularly in that I don't cut up the inside of my lip with the bottom teeth when punched, which used to happen when I wore the cheapie, upper teeth only style mouthguard.

I think there are a few different brands that make the same style mouthguard. All of them will be cheaper than a dentist, I would say, and will do a pretty good job.

I've got a brain-pad, i really like it. just having breathing holes makes so much difference, i don't get a mouth full of saliva so quickly and can even sort of talk with training partners whilst still keeping it solid.
