Martial Arts Documentaries

Postby jaraek on Wed Feb 17, 2010 11:10 pm

Was wondering if anyone knew of any good Martial Arts Documentaries, be it style specific, biographical, or about fairly new developments (MMA)?

I've seen "Smashing Machine" (it's available here: ) and thought that was amazing.

Since then I haven't seen much stuff (Yip Man, though not a doc, was AWESOME).

That's part of the reason why my filmmaker friend and I wanted to fill that void and produce our own film (shameless plug :p :

Any recommendations?

Probably the more well know ones are

Fight Quest
Human Weapon
Fight Science

The first 2 are similar, 2 guys journeying and discovering all different arts from around the world/
Fight Science is more scientific (in theory) hence the name. All quite entertaining.

Haha, I like the use of "donkey" moves. Yeah will definitely check these out. I've seen Fight Quest and that was really interesting especially learning about the different styles and seeing the different competitions. Thanks for the suggestions. :)
